WILLIAM H. CARR, CPA

Bill has over 35 years experience in governmental, non-profit and small business auditing and consulting as well as corporate and individual taxation. Bill was in public accounting from 1969 until 1976 when he founded the firm now known as Carr, Riggs & Ingram, LLC.

STEPHEN C. RIGGS, CPA

Steve has 25 years experience in public accounting and consulting services. He specializes in taxation, representation before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), divorce settlements and litigation, mergers and acquisitions, and court appointed corporate/trustee engagements.

Steve either owns or has bought and sold numerous businesses. He owns all or an interest in corporations relating to real estate, real property developments, plane charters, banking and a radio station.

Prior to co-founding Carr, Riggs & Ingram, LLC, Steve worked for the IRS as a field agent for four years in Jacksonville, Florida. As a field agent, Steve audited complex corporate business transactions.

PHYLLIS S. INGRAM, CPA

Phyllis S. Ingram has sixteen years public accounting experience serving closely-held companies, insurance and not-for-profit organizations. Her areas of expertise within the insurance and not-for-profit industries include independent audits, income tax planning and preparation, regulatory compliance, accounting services and consulting.

Phyllis is a recognized speaker on insurance and not-for-profit related issues in the Southeast, and she regularly writes articles relating to not-for-profit issues and teaches not-for-profit taxation courses as well as other accounting courses for the Alabama Society of CPAs.

Phyllis Ingram brings extensive audit, accounting and taxation experience and notoriety to CRI, serving a large number of prominent clients in the Southeast. She is the managing partner in the Montgomery office.

Phyllis has experience in all phases of accounting from research on federal and state tax issues to preparing financial statements and reports. To maintain her certification and stay current on issues facing her clients, all of Phyllis Ingram’s continuing education is devoted to accounting and taxation topics. She is a highly regarded lecturer, frequently addressing groups throughout the nation. She regularly speaks for various state and national organizations.

D. TIMOTHY HERNDON, CPA

D. Timothy Herndon has 18 years experience in business mergers and acquisitions. Tim specializes in international and domestic taxation for closely-held businesses. He is also a skilled professional in estate and succession planning for family-held businesses.

RICHARD A. WEIDNER, CPA

Richard A. Weidner has thirty-five years experience in all phases of accounting and auditing. Richard works extensively as an advisor to commercial entities and professional service corporations for tax and business planning. He is a consultant to not-for-profits entities and other entities and is also a registered investment advisor.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
* Worked at Monsanto Corporation as a cost accountant for three years before entering public accounting.
* Became a partner at Williams, Cox, Weidner & Cox in 1972 and became managing partner of Williams, Cox, Weidner and Cox in May, 1994.
* Became partner at Carr, Riggs & Ingram, LLC in 2002 and became member of CRI Executive Committee.

JAMES N. BEARDEN, CPA

James N. Bearden has more than 35 years of public accounting experience focused on providing audit, accounting and consulting services primarily to privately held middle market clients in construction, retail, manufacturing and distribution industries. Jim began his career with Grant Thornton, and in 1976, co-founded Bearden & Smith, P.C., an Atlanta-based firm which merged with Carr, Riggs & Ingram in 2006. Jim is currently the Partner-In-Charge of CRI-Atlanta, as well as a member of the Executive Committee.

J. DAN HOLLIDAY, CPA, CVA

J. Dan Holliday has more than twenty years of experience in public accountancy and consulting, and is CRI's expert in construction accounting. Dan acts as a consultant to construction company owners in the areas of bonding, business valuations, business succession planning, productivity and profitability. He was the co-founding partner of the firm Davenport, Holliday & Spring, which merged with Carr, Riggs & Ingram in 2001.
